2001 Season - Week 9

Two Make Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Paul who is inducted into the Hall of Fame thanks to a week 9 winning 55 points and to Johnny who makes the Hall for the 4th time with a 54 point week. Mark holds the record with 5 visits to the famed Marble Halls. This is the first time in 111 weeks of BUMS playing that two players have made the Hall in the same week and inevitably sets us up for our highest scoring week ever. We have so far scored 428 points and need 11 more from the 18 players playing in the Sunday and Monday Night Games to eclipse the 2001 week 3 total of 439. Talking of halls... Aaron Escapes With 4 start times for NFL games last week, and a game lasting 3 hours on average, we play 240 minutes of Football and Aaron had to wait until the 230th minute before his TE Desmond Clark caught a TD (in the Broncos loss to Oakland on Monday Night) to score his only points of the week and keep him from joining John, Paul, Marcus and Gareth (weren’t they a famous ‘60’s rock band) in the Hall of Shame. Trading Day 2 is this Saturday November 18th at 8pm. The players not available for the draft who have scored this season have all been added to the supplemental Trading Day 2 list and are all available for selection. After Trading Day 2 any BUMS player placed on Injured Reserve by their NFL club will be eligible to be cut and replaced with someone from the same position. Non Compulsory Whale Gully Wins!! GULLY WINS!!! He’s not had much to cheer about this year but our 1997 Champion and Agent Provocateur will be dancing in the streets of Prestwood at this news. With 16 owners the view is we have reached maximum capacity and exceeded it in the Tight End department. Therefore next year teams will consist of a Head Coach, QB, Kicker, 2 Running Backs and 3 Receivers which can be any combination of Tight Ends and Wide Receivers. You may go for a two TE set with Gonzalez, Walls and Jerry Rice or be like Gully and go with 3 Wide Outs! This announcement is made now to help you with planning your Trades and selecting your Franchise Players in the post season. Quality Ranting Last Thursday saw e-mail overload as many of you were forced to put finger to keyboard, though disappointingly our two American members didn’t join in such informed debate. S&M Remember now Channel 5 are showing the Sunday Night Game the Monday table will not include this game and the table will be updated in full on Thursday after we’ve seen MNF.
